On Wednesday, the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) issued a sit-at-home home order, which halted commercial activity in Onitsha, Nnewi, Awka, and other Anambra State cities.

Due to the order, major businesses such as banks, car parks, gas stations, markets, schools, and roadside shops were closed.

All of the roads in the cities mentioned were devoid of vehicular traffic, and it was difficult to find pedestrians in many areas.

According to a source, even the numerous police and military checkpoints around Anambra were unmanned, as was the River Niger Bridge in Onitsha, which is normally a hive of activity on a normal day.

Despite the fact that the IPOB had called off the Monday sit-at-home, people continued to observe it.

The group stated that the official days for the sit-in would be days when its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, would be taken to court.

However, it was reported that Kanu’s case in Abuja was adjourned on Wednesday to Thursday.

This could lead to another round of sitting at home, bringing the total to three days in just one week.
