The Brazilian forward headed the first goal through a corner swung in by Andrew Robertson in the last fifteen minutes.

The Egypt captain, Mohamed Salah therefore, extended the lead as he scored the second goal eight minutes later.

Klopp told BT Sport: “I’m really happy with everything apart from obviously Diogo had to go off with something around the ankle ligament.”

“We will see. We don’t know exactly. He could play on, which is maybe a good sign. Half-time the ankle was swollen already, so we had to change.”
