Amotekun Arrests Secondary School Students for Cultism

Men from the South West Security outfit, code-named Amotekun Corps, arrested four secondary school leavers in Ikenne Local Government, Ogun State, for rape and cult-related offenses.

According to a press release issued in Abeokuta, the state capital, by the Amotekun Commander in Ogun State, David Akinremi, the four suspects are members of a notorious cult group known as Ajagbe Youngest Nation (AYN).

Commander Akinremi stated that the suspects, aged 17 to 20, were apprehended on February 9, 2022, following a distress call received by the agency’s Ikenne Command that the cult group was terrorizing and disturbing the peace at Ajagbe High School in Iperu Remo.

The Amotekun boss went on to say that the group, which included current and former Ajagbe High School students, was involved in raping innocent girls in the area.

He stated that as a result of the distress call, Amotekun operatives raided their hideout during their weekly meeting and apprehended Oregbesan Idris, 17, and Abdul Toheeb, 19.

He went on to say that their confession during interrogation led to the arrests of Esan Kazeem, 20, and Saka Sultan, 17.

As a result, he stated that the arrested suspects are being processed for transfer to police for prosecution.
