Ahead of the All Progressives Congress APC national convention on February 26th, the APC-National Stakeholders Supporters Forum APC-NSSF has asked the party leadership and other critical stakeholders to save the APC from impending collapse by avoiding the imposition of candidates during the convention.
The APC-NSSF gave the charge over the weekend during an interactive meeting with Senator Tanko Almakura, a national chairmanship aspirant.
The forum also urged the APC leadership to learn from the Peoples Democratic Party PDP’s misfortunes, which it blamed on the impunity of its leaders in the candidate selection process.

According to Hon. Yusuf Ardo, National Leader of the APC-NSSF, it is critical that the party emerges from the Convention strong and well-organized.
“The imposition of candidates usually causes very serious crises and rancor in any party,” he said, adding that this could give the opposition a foothold.
Speaking at the event, Dr Vivian Sonny Young, the Forum’s National Women Leader, stated that women, youths, and people with disabilities should be included in all aspects of the party structure and governance processes.
She stated that they are the bedrock of Nigeria’s political struggle and should not be overlooked at any level of the party.
The Forum recognized Sen. Al-leadership Makura’s qualities and assured him of the Forum’s support for the APC’s growth and development if he is elected party chairman.
The Forum is currently meeting with all aspirants for the position of national chairman of the party in an effort to ensure that the best candidate emerges as the party’s leader.
