'My No. 10' – Drogba Hails ex-Super Eagles Skipper, Jay Jay Okocha | Daily Report Nigeria

Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba has saluted former Super Eagles captain, Austine Jay Jay Okocha.

The former Ivory Coast captain resorted to his Instagram to hail Okocha with the caption “My Number 10”.

Drogba posted himself and the 48-year-old Nigerian with the caption ahead of the African legends encounter with former Senegal players.

The match is for the celebration of the inauguration of Senegal’s newly-constructed 50,000 capacity Stadium.

Drogba and Okocha among other African football legends including Samuel Eto’o, Emmanuel Eboue, Emmanuel Adebayor, Asamoah Gyan were invited to play against a Senegalese team full of ex-internationals.

Meanwhile, the ex-Barcelona forward, Eto’o has also revealed that the Ex-Nigerian footballer would have been rated as highly as Ronaldinho had it been he was not African.

Okocha netted 14 goals in 73 appearances between 1993 and 2006 he represented his country.

The former PSG midfielder was the 1998 African Player of the year runner-up, BBC African Footballer of the year 2003.

In 2004, he also emerged the African Cup of Nations best player and top scorer.

During his time at Bolton Wanderers, Okocha was also regarded as their best player to ever play at the Reebok/Macron Stadium.
