Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board announced on Thursday that it has registered over 500,000 candidates for the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Prof Ishaq Oloyede, JAMB Registrar, disclosed this while monitoring the registration exercise in Bwari Area Council, Abuja, on Thursday.
The board’s goal, he says, is to register at least 1.5 million candidates before the March 26, 2022 deadline.
“So far, so good,” he said, “we have registered over 500 candidates.” We’re expecting around 1.5 million people. We still have more than a month to go.
And, if everything goes as planned, we expect to register 50 thousand visitors per day. It was over seventy thousand per day two days ago. We believe we will be able to register seventy thousand people today. There was a minor glitch in the system yesterday.
Concerning the quality of the CBT tests already administered by the board, he stated, “Which of the biometric centers are they using that is as good as this one you have seen here?” Even though we do it for N3,500, people still do not follow simple instructions. Everything appears to be going well.
People from outside Nigeria, West African College of Physicians and West African College of Surgeons, are coming here to patronize us because we are doing the right thing for them. So, if the work isn’t of high quality, they won’t come from far and wide.
