As the presidential election in 2023 approaches, one of the presidential aspirants and leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, paid a visit to the traditional rulers in Ondo State’s three senatorial districts on Friday, seeking their support for his aspiration.
Speaking at the palace of the Deji of Akure, the former governor of Lagos State stated that he had assisted many people in the country in achieving their political objectives.
Tinubu named former governors of Osun and Ondo states, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and Dr Olusegun Mimiko, as beneficiaries of his political generosity. He also mentioned the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, and the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari.

“I helped Mimiko get his mandate through court after two years of being elected,” Tinubu said. After three years, I assisted Fayemi in obtaining his mandate. Aregbesola’s mandate took three years and ten months to obtain.
“We’ve helped a lot of people like that.” We assisted Buhari in removing them from office (PDP). We encouraged him to complete his eight-year term, and I informed him that I intend to succeed him. He advised me to proceed, which is why I came to seek the support of the traditional rulers.”
Tinubu has promised to solve the country’s various problems if elected as the country’s next president.
When I became governor, Lagos State was the worst in Africa; we had little revenue at the time, but we did our best. Take a look at Lagos right now; it generates more than N40 billion in revenue.

Nigeria has the potential to compete with Russia in the exploration of oil and gas. Nigeria will be able to compete in manufacturing with other countries if we properly utilize our resources and have stable electricity.
“I am here to seek our royal fathers’ blessing for my presidential ambition because I know where the problems are and, if given the chance in 2023, Nigeria will be ranked among the best nations in the world.” “I am pleading with all eligible voters to have their Permanent Voters Cards revalidated so that they can carry out their civic responsibilities,” Tinubu said.
Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, the Deji of Akure, responded by describing Tinubu as someone who could solve the country’s problems.
In Okitipupa, where Tinubu met with monarchs at the Ondo South Senatorial District, the Olugbo of Ugboland, Oba Fredrick Obateru-Akinrunta, who spoke on behalf of other traditional rulers, praised Tinubu’s courage in declaring his presidential ambition, saying he has the charisma and ability to transform the country.
