Nigerians in Saudi Arabia have cried out in frustration as they have been left stranded in the Arabic country without food and care, even after paying for their evacuation back to Nigeria.

One of the stranded Nigerians who spoke exclusively to Daily Report Nigeria, narrated that most of them have long paid for their flight expense of three hundred thousand Naira over a month ago.

“The Saudi Arabia Consulate has refused to cooperate with the Nigerian embassy to evacuate us from this country,” he said.

“Each of us paid ₦300,000 for flight tickets. They have refused to make the number of persons who paid for the evacuation known to us,” he continued.

“All they keep telling us is that they are doing something about our evacuation, but the situation has become unbearable.”

“There is no food, people are in distress, no water to drink and we are dying.”

“We have pleaded with the embassy to make provision for a smaller aircraft to evacuate those who have paid for the evacuation process but nothing has been done.”

In a Save Our Soul call, he pleaded with the Federal Government of Nigeria to make plans to evacuate them as soon as possible.

He beckoned that the Saudi Arabian Consulate should be contacted without delay to speed up the evacuation process as most of them have become depressed and are on the verge of dying.

“We plead with the Federal Government to hasten our evacuation process as we are dying. Please do not let anything bad happen before planning to evacuate us.”

Recall that the Federal Government had asked stranded Nigerians in Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Thailand to pay ₦297,000 as flight expense for their evacuation.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Federal Government had on May 20th, 2020, announced the evacuation of 292 Nigerians the Minister of Foreign affair, Geoffrey Onyeama.
