The incumbent governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki has emerged the flag bearer for the Peoples Democratic Party ahead of state’s gubernatorial election slated for September 19, 2020.

Obaseki’s emergence was announced by the PDP after it’s state primaries held at the Samuel Ogbemudia International Stadium in Benin, the Edo state capital.

Present at the Edo PDP primary election were Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State alongside his Bauchi state counterpart, Governor Bala Mohammed, and other party delegates and executives.

Godwin Obaseki’s emergence of the flag bearer of the PDP is sequel to the three other aspirants under the party withdrawing their interest for the serving governor.
