The Pondi Grassroots Movement (PGM), a social-political pressure group has called on the good people of Bututu Council Area of Delta State to unanimously return Julius Pondi back to the House of Representatives to consolidate his achievements for the people of Burutu Federal Constituency.

The group with a membership strength of over 2500 youths spreading across all the kingdoms, communities and villages of the council area says its support for the Federal lawmaker is premised on the bases of high performance, even distribution of constituency projects in all wards of the council area, accessibility, attraction of key infrastructural projects to the LGA, among others.

The group in a statement signed by the tetrad of Mr Roland Dede Coordinator, Comr. Kingsley Tuma General Secretary, Engr. Disi Soji Patrick and Comr. Clever Igere Media and Publicity Directors, promised to engage and consult with all critical stakeholders of Burutu Council area with the achievements of Hon. Pondi and the need for him to be returned to continue his good works for all constituents of the constituency.

“After due diligence and study of the political happenings in Burutu Local Government Area as they relate to the House of Representatives seat for Burutu Federal Constituency, it becomes imperative that we declare our total and unwavering support for Hon. Julius Pondi to be reelected back to the house to represent the collective interest of the people of Burutu Constituency.

“Our support for the reelection of Hon. Pondi is bound by his effective representation, the attraction of key projects to the constituency, his massive support for education, the Federal College of Fishery and Aquaculture, Tuomo bill, etc. We believe Hon. Julius Pondi has done well, today there is no ward in Burutu L.G.A that has not benefited from his constituency projects.

“We are therefore duty-bound to call on all leaders of goodwill and stakeholders in the council area not to succumb to primordial sentiments to truncate the will of progress as the benefits of continuity outweighs those of introducing a newcomer to represent us in the Green chambers come 2023”, the statement reads in part.

According to the group, returning Hon. Pondi will enable him utilise the network of friends he has bonded in and around the National Assembly to ensure that the bill for the Federal College of Fishery and Aquaculture, Tuomo is signed into law.

The group further argued that returning the lawmaker means there are high chances that he will hold a principal position in the next national assembly to draw home more development.
