The Niger state government on Tuesday, raised an alarm over the continuous captivity of three Chinese expatriates in a kidnapper’s den.

In a statement on Tuesday, the State Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Internal Security, Mr. Emmanuel Umar disclosed that the three foreigners, were kidnpapped two months ago, by terrorists while working at the Zungeru Hydroelectric Power dam in Wushishi Local Government Area of Niger State.

The commissioner said the state government was working in collaboration with the federal government to secure the release of the Chinese.

According to Umar: “Security operatives are on top of the situation. I will not divulge much of the information.”

According to him, during the attack which led to the killing of two people, two security agents were injured but were treated and discharged.
