BREAKING: EFCC Releases Obiano, Wife, Confiscates Travel Documents | Daily Report Nigeria

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reportedly released the former governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, and his wife, Ebelechukwu Obiano, from detention.

The couple were arrested on Thursday night at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos while trying to catch a flight to their base in the United States.

The arrest came barely 5 hours after Obiano handed over power to Governor Charlie Soludo.

According to the report, the EFCC confiscated the passports and travel documents of Obiano and his wife before releasing them.

The couple is billed to proceed to the EFCC Abuja office for further interrogation and investigation.
