The governor Abia state, Okezie Ikpeazu has reportedly recovered from the dreaded novel coronavirus having tested positive to the lethal virus four weeks ago.
The Governor’s negative Covid-19 status was announced via a statement by the state Government on Saturday.

Commissioner for Information in Abia state, John Kalu, stated that the test carried out on Ikpeazu’s samples on Thursday returned negative yesterday, Friday.
Kalu wrote, “To the glory of God, repeat COVID-19 test conducted by Nigeria Center for Disease Control on samples submitted by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu on Thursday, 2nd July, 2020, returned negative result on Friday, 3rd July, 2020.

“Governor Ikpeazu is therefore deemed free of the virus according to the extant guidelines of NCDC and the World Health Organisation.”
Governor Ikpeazu has since been in self isolation after testing positive to the lethal virus on June 8.
Meanwhile, Abia states Coronavirus statistics according to the NCDC on Friday night, Abia stands at 382 infected cases, 207 recoveries and three casualties.
