The Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Mr Ifedayo Abegunde, has reportedly resigned his appointment.

Ifedayo, popularly called Abena, reportedly tendered his resignation letter in the early hours of Monday, July 6.

However, the resigning SSG failed to explain the reason behind his decision to quit office even as Governor Rotimi Akeredolu is currently in isolation, undergoing treatment due to Coronavirus.

Abena confirmed his resignation in a Telephone that with Nation, saying he would emphasis on his decision through a press statement later.

However, speculations are rife that the SSG resigned to contest as running mate to Segun Abraham, a gubernatorial aspirant under All Progressives Congress((APC) Governorship in the state.
