The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old man identified as Badmus Folarin, for burning the buttocks of a 10-year-old boy, Sunday David, because the young lad licked from a tin of tea.

It was learnt that Folarin had allegedly used a hot knife to burn the victim’s buttocks for taking from the tea which belonged to his (Folarin’s) mother.

Disclosing this, the Ogun state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, through a released statement stated that the suspect resided at Elegushi street, Owode-Yewa, in Yewa South Local Government Area of the state.

According to Oyeyemi, the suspect was arrested following a distress call received by the DPO Owode Egbado Divison, Olabisi Elebutte, from a concerned neighbor.

The young lad was seen lying down helplessly with serious injuries sustained all over his body, consequent upon the arrival of the patrol team sent to the scene. The victim was immediately rushed to a private hospital.

Meanwhile, the Ogun state Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
