'We'll No Longer Tolerate Your Excesses,' IPOB Warns Apostle Suleman, Tunde Bakare | Daily Report Nigeria

The Indigenous People of Biafra, has sent out a stern warning to the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman, with regards to his recent comments targeting the Igbo race.

The fiery preacher had in a message suggested that the problem of an Igbo man was an Igbo man, saying the people do not tear themselves down with every opportunity.

Suleman also noted that Igbos would be responsible for the downfall of a Biafra nation if actualized.

The clergyman, who gave several examples on how Igbos tear themselves down, said;

‘’Somebody from the South, somebody from the East. You betray your people. Look at this agitation for Biafra. Who are the people attacking Biafra most, Igbo?. Shameless Igbos?”

On his part, President Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate forthe 2011 presidential election, Pastor Tunde Bakare had described the Igbo race as a cursed people.

Bakare attributed the Igbos being cursed to why they cannot be president of Nigeria.

Why should anyone in this country say the Igbo man cannot be president of Nigeria? I was at Imo State and I told them the reason why the Igbo cannot rule Nigeria and I want to remove the curse today,” Bakare had said in a viral video.

However, IPOB in a statement on Tuesday cautioned Suleman, alongside Pastor Tunde Bakare, from making unguarded utterances about IPOB struggle and the entire Igbo race.

The statement signed by IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, accused the clergymen of verbally attacking Biafra agitators and the Igbo nation without cause.

The separatists group warned the clerics to give more attention attention to their ministerial callings and desist from meddling in other affairs.

The IPOB spokesman warned that failure on the Suleman and Bakare to do so would attract grave consequences as their excesses would not be tolerated.

He said: “The attention of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, under the command of our Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has been drawn to the unprovoked verbal attack and ranting by Apostle Suleiman against IPOB and the enterprising Igbo nation.

“It is a puzzle that a man of God will abandon his calling and resort to attacking a nation without any cause. When has unguarded utterance against IPOB and the Igbo nation become part of Suleman’s calling?

“We don’t intend to join issues with Apostle Suleiman and his likes such as Tunde Bakare but our message to them is very unambiguous: They should steer clear from any matter concerning IPOB or the great Igbo race.

“Let them concentrate on their apostolic calling and restrain from unguarded utterances or vituperations on subjects beyond them.

“We warn Apostle Suleiman and his likes to restrain from any comments on IPOB or Igbo nation as that will not be tolerated anymore. We don’t want to have issues with any man of God, and men of God should know their limits.”

Powerful advised the duo to be like Men of God in the bible days, who were never known for controversies.

He wondered why why the Nigerian church leaders chose to deviate from their callings to meddle in other matters.
