The statement reads in full;
“Again, it has come to my attention an old story of me disrespecting our iconic father and the eternal symbol of Niger Delta struggle, Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark.”

“I say the story, presently going viral, is an old one, because it is the same accusation dusted up again and again.”

“And it is to the allegation that, I as the Minister of Niger Delta during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan, gave Chief Edwin Clark contract to execute in Niger Delta and that he took the money and didn’t do the job.”

“I have refuted this barbaric allegation times without number that it is not true.”

“If it is true, Nigerians know me by now that I will say it is. But it is not true. For the umpteenth time, I deny this allegation against Chief Edwin Clark. It is a lie from the pit of hell.”

“I really don’t know what the harbingers of this lie want to achieve. But if their intention is to smear me and put a wedge between me and Chief Clark, they have failed.”

“Chief Edwin Kaigbodo Clark is not only a father to me, he is a pride to all Niger Deltans. I pray they will desist from cooking up lies to spite me against Chief Edwin Clark or any other person. It will not work.”

Meanwhile, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio has published the names of lawmakers who took 60% of NDDC contracts without execution.
