ICYMI: How Policeman Raped Face Mask Offender in Rivers

A middle-aged woman has accused a police officer of allegedly detaining her because she had no face mask on, and going on to rape her in the process.

The alleged victim who spoke on anonymity identified her abuser to be Peter Ebah, attached to Saakpenwaa Police Division in the Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The victim who is a widow with two children, narrated that she was taken away traveling in a bus from Bori, Khana LGA, to Port Harcourt, around 6.30pm on Tuesday last week.

She explained that Peter Ebah, detained her at the checkpoint for hours, before putting her in a police van and took her to a guesthouse after driving around town under the pretext of taking her to the station.

The victim further explained that she cooperated with Inspector Ebah after he threatened her.

She said, “After a while, they took me to a guest house, where one of them, Inspector Peter Ebah, from Sakpenwa Police station raped and threatened to kill me if I misbehaved and held me there till this (Wednesday) morning.

“In the morning, he asked me to give him my account number so that he would transfer N2,000 into it. I played along and gave him the account number because I didn’t know what he would do to me if I had refused.”

The Rivers Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed that the police was investigating the matter towards unmasking the accused police officer and ensuring that justice was served in the matter.
