Desmond Binebai, son to a former commissioner representing Ijaw ethnic nationality in board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Commission, T. M Binebai, has emerged flag bearer of the African Democratic Congress for Burutu North Constituency ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Desmond, 30, will enter the race to representing Burutu North in the Delta State House of Assembly.

He was declared winner of the ADC primary election, which held on Friday in Burutu.

Speaking shortly after his declaration as winner of the primary election, Desmond said;

“Today (June 3) I have been declared winner of the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC) Delta State House of Assembly primaries, precisely Burutu North Constituency. I want to appeal to the people of Burutu North that, come 2023 general elections, they should replicate this gesture by considering their son who is ready to change the narrative of the Burutu North with their votes.

“The Year 2023 is a year of victory and I want to assure all the Burutu North people that when I’m elected for the House of Assembly, we shall all sing praises because I will raise motions and make sure that there is empowerment, skill acquisition and infrastructural development in Burutu,” he added.

Desmond Binebai will slug it out with Anthony Alapala Ebitonmo of the APC, Pele Demebide of APGA and others in the race to succeed the incumbent lawmaker, Asupa Forteta of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
