Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has reportedly emerged running mate to presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar.
Wike emerged vice presidential candidate of the main opposition party after defeating Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State.

Sources at the National Headquarters of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) revealed that the committee set up by the party to pick Atiku’s running mate settled for Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike, over Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State
Governor Wike is said to have won an election by scoring 16 votes,while Governor Okowa only scored 3 of the committee’s votes.
The Leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is expected to officially announce the choice of the Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike any moment.
