A former Press Secretary to Nnamdi Kanu, Amaka Ekwo, has urged the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB to support the 2023 general elections in the Southeast.

Ekwo, who pleaded with the separatist group to allow people of the region to participate in the forthcoming elections,  said the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, would be disadvantaged if election is prevented in the Southeast.

In a tweet on Tuesday, She wrote: “We must be careful. Any attempt to stop the election in Biafra-land will not be good for IPOB. If IPOB puts @PeterObi at a disadvantage in the coming election, Igbo politicians will never allow #BiafraReferendum to take place. They may fight to end IPOB.”

Ekwo also noted that voter apathy from the Southeast means the All Progressive Congress, APC would still retain power in 2023.
