Property worth millions of naira has been razed down by fire in Okpikpi Street in Iyara area of Warri, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Although the cause of the fire disaster has not be assertained, a resident of the area who pleaded anonymity, stated that the fire outbreak started from the resident of a female tenant.

According to the source, residents of the street, particularly youths, helped in preventing the fire from spreading to the neighbouring compounds before the arrival of men of Delta State Fire Service.

However, no life was lost to the incident.

The Youth Chairman of the community, Majemite Akubor, while speaking to newsmen, expressed sympathy with victims of the fire disaster.

Akubor also admonished that residents should be mindful of how they handle naked fire in order to avoid such unfortunate incidents.

He further appealed to the state government and organisations to come to the aid of the victims.
