Heavy Flood Sweeps Away Student In Ondo | Daily Report Nigeria

A Junior Secondary School student of Mount Carmel Girls School, Ikare Akoko, the headquarters of the Ikare Akoko Local Government Area of Ondo State, identified as Motunrayo John, was reportedly swept away by flood caused by a heavy downpour in the community.

“Punch reported that the incident happened on Tuesday June 21, while the little girl was playing in Semusemu area of the town.

It was learnt that the secondary school student accidentally slipped when she put her legs inside the water and was carried away by the heavy flood.

Her mathematical set was recovered while searching for her after the rain.

Divisional Police Officer in Ikare Akoko, Mr. Olatujoye Akinwande, who confirmed the incident said the school principal, Mrs. Ajoke Asiwaju, reported the matter at the police station.

Olatujoye Akinwande added the search and rescue operation had commenced.
