The returning rainy season after a long August-break pause is begining to take a toll on certain communities in Delta state.
The people of Patani Local Government Area of Delta State are counting their loses as erosion washed away over 50 houses in the community into the River Niger.
Residents of Abari Community in the Local Government Area of Delta State are in rude shock as their houses and other properties have been washed away by the erosion.

FocalPoint Reports that the indigenes of Abari are bearing the brunt due to series of abandoned projects in the community.
The people of Abari are predominantly into fishing, farming and petty trading activities.
The people residing along the bank of the River Niger are described as hard-working, peaceful and loving people from the Ijaws part of Delta State.
At the National Assembly, they are represented by one of the longest-serving Senators in Nigeria, Senator James Manager, while another long-serving member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Nicholas Mutu represents them at the lower house.
Both at different time have held the position of Chairman House Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). Ironically, their presence at the National Assembly and House of Representative over the years has not been reflected in Abari Community as residents alleged that projects linked to them are often abandoned.
They seek aid from the government of Delta state in a bid to alleviate the effects of their losses.
