The National Women Leader of the Ijaw Youth Council, Comrade Tina Tobusi has empowered widows of deceased former agitators in Bayelsa State.

The empowerment also had relatives and children of the ‘fallen heroes’ as beneficiaries.

Explaining her intention for the exercise, Tobusi said the move was occasioned by the need to alleviate the economic hardship facing the women.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with our correspondent narrated how difficult things have been for them since the demise of their husbands and bread winners.

According to Timi Young Bekewari, at the time she lost her husband, “she had a baby at hand with five other kids and three other children with another woman. Things have not been easy for her since the death of her husband.”
