A plan by terrorists to attack four states in the country has been unraveled by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC.

According to a warning note to the government, the agency said Boko Haram, Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) insurgents in collaboration with bandits are planning the attack.

The memo seen by Nigerian Tribune revealed that the two sects were already in possession of sophisticated weapons to unleash terror on targets in Katsina State.

It also said that some other terrorists’ groups are prepared to invade Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory and other states, including Lagos.

The NSCDC has called on all State commands to exercise protection of public places and government facilities across the nation

The memo signed by the Deputy Commandant General (DCG) of Operations, DD Mungadi and dated July 24 was titled “Heightened Plots By Terrorists To Stage Coordinated Attacks in Parts of the Country”

Mungadi said intelligence report shows that Boko-Haram and ISWAP “have mobilised fighters and high calibre weapons particularly Rocket-propelled Grenade (RPG) launchers, Anti-Aircraft (AA) guns and General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMGS)” for an offensive attack in Katsina.

It further said that “two separate bandits groups’ are plotting coordinated attacks on North-West, North Central and South West. (Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kogi, FCT and Lagos) respectively”.

The NSCDC further directed its personnel to be deployed to schools, worship centres and critical national assets in their respective States to checkmate possible threats by criminal elements.

Meanwhile, the Presidential Guards Brigade of the was attacked along the Kubwa-Bwari road in Abuja, same day the information was conveyed.
