ICYMI: Again, Terrorists Attack Abuja

ICYMI: Again, Terrorists Attack Abuja | Daily Report Nigeria

Terrorists on Thursday night, invaded Abuja, Nigeria’s capital territory.

The terrorists, who operated largely on motorcycles, attacked a military checkpoint close to Zuma Rock, a border between Niger State and the FCT.

The attack occured close to Madalla in Niger State, just a few meters from Zuba, along the Abuja-Kaduna road.

Sources say the terrorists arrived he spot about 7pm and started shooting immediately.

However, operatives of the Nigerian Army were said to have embarked on a clearance operation after the attack that caused a heavy gridlock in the area.

A military said “The terrorists took control of the area for over 30 minutes and kept on shooting before heading towards the Kaduna axis of the expressway.”

Soldiers from the Zuma Barracks stormed the incident scene to take took full control of it as they chased the terrorists into the bush less than 30 minutes later.

A patrol team of policemen also arrived at the scene to restore normalcy.

Number of casualties could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.

The attack is coming just days after the Presidential Guard was attacked by terrorists leading to an unconfirmed number of casualties.
