Woman Arraigned For Allegedly Stealing 99 Iphones

Woman Arraigned For Allegedly Stealing 99 Iphones | Daily Report Nigeria

A woman has been presented before an Ikeja Chief Magistrate’s Court for the alleged theft of 99 pieces of iPhones.

According to the protection counsel, ASP Raji Akeem, the accused, Adenike Okunbanjo, 60 allegedly stole the phones, worth N14.85 million on Jan 16, 2017, at Muritala Muhammad International Airport, Lagos.

Akeem said that the iPhones were worth N14. 85 million, were shipped to Lagos from the U.S. by Mr. Bolaji Ogunsanya to be delivered to someone named “Mr. Azeez” in Lagos, but it got missing upon arrival in Lagos, and all efforts to locate it failed.

Akeem said that the complainant furnished the police with the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) of all the phones.

The prosecutor also said that one of the IMEI of the phone was traced to the defendant and she was tracked and arrested, adding that four more of the phones were found in her house.

 

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. B. O Osunsanmi, granted the defendant bail of N2 million with two sureties in like sum.

Osunsanmi adjourned the case until Sept. 28 to mention.
