Chelsea Closes to Capturing Matthijs De Ligt

Chelsea are a step closer in their pursuit to sign Matthijs de Ligt with Juventus reducing their demands for the defender.

The Juventus defender is keen on a Chelsea move and has communicated his opinion to the Juventus hierarchy.

Chelsea are pushing to sign De Ligt this summer and are willing to offer either Christian Pulisic or Timo Werner as part of the deal.

According to Matt Law, “Matthijs De Ligt is keen on moving to Chelsea and Juventus are believed to have softened their demands in recent days. The Journalist stated .

“The will of the player and Chelsea being prepared to allow Pulisic or Werner to move in the opposite direction has got the valuation down,” he added.

Juventus have also reiterated that they will not hold onto a player who is not fully committed to the club.

‘It’s impossible to keep players when they want to leave the club, but all the three parties in the negotiations have to be satisfied,’ Juventus CEO Maurizio Arrivabene had said.

Chelsea are interested in adding two center-backs this summer and signing De Ligt will be a huge step in the right direction.
