Barcelona has reiterated that Manchester United target Frenkie de Jong is not leaving the club this summer.

Reports had it that a fee was close to being agreed for the Dutch superstar, however, Barca president, Joan Laporte, has stated during the unveiling of their new signing, Franck Kessie, “We have no intention of selling him, he wants to stay.”

“Frenkie is a Barcelona player. He is not for sale, we don’t want to transfer him,” he added.

New United manager, Erik Ten Hag, has identified Frankie De Jong as the main transfer target and both clubs have been in negotiations for over a month.
