The source said the bandits who came on about six motorcycles, occupied the road and started shooting sporadically, forcing the two vehicles to stop before they kidnapped the occupants.

“They were not more than 20 in number because they came on about six motorcycles. They did not use any roadblock but rather stood on the road with their guns and started shooting in the air.

“That led two of the vehicles to lose control and veer off the road and the gunmen eventually abducted the occupants,” he said.

According to one Abubakar Surajo Jibia an eye witness who shared photos from the scene, he said some people were killed during the attack.
