No Going Back on Planned Strike Action Over Electricity Tarrif, Petrol Hike - NLC Vows | Daily Report Nigeria

The Nigeria Labour congress (NLC) has vowed that it’s not going back on its decision to embark on a strike action on September 28, 2020, if the government refuses to reverse the price hike in petrol and electricity tariff.

This was concluded by the National Executive Council during a meeting in Abuja held on Tuesday.

President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Ayuba Wabba affirmed that the decision to proceed on the planned industrial strike action was unanimously taken by all leaders of the union across the 36 states in the country, including the FCT.

The Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) had recently announced a hike in the price of fuel (petrol), while the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) had also increased electricity tariff per Kwh from N30.23 to N62.33.
