A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to accept Senator Godswill Akpabio, as senatorial candidate of the Progressives Congress Senatorial candidate for 2023.

The court further ordered INEC to declare and publish Akpabio’s name as authentic candidate for Akwa Ibom North/West Senatorial District.

This ruling was made on Thursday by Justice Emeka Nwite.

Nwite noted that INEC acted illegally by rejecting Akpabio’s name after it was sent by APC.

“I hereby declared that the defendant (INEC) publish the name of the 2nd plaintifff as the authentic candidate,” he said.
