Chisom Ogum, 26, has been arrested by the Anambra State Police Command for allegedly killing and burying his biological father, Christopher Ogum, 70, in a shallow grave in Umuomaku community, in Orumba LGA of Anambra state.

The suspect was learnt to have attacked and murdered his father with a shovel before burying him in a shallow grave.

His escape attempt was foiled by angry mob as he was apprehended and beaten to stupor, he was forced to exhume the deceased body, his father, from where he buried it.

Confirming the incident, Anambra State Police Spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed, disclosed that detectives on rapid response to the scene took the deceased body to the mortuary for autopsy report,

Haruna also disclosed that an exhibit, an offensive weapon, used in perpetrating the act was recovered.

While the case is to be transfered to the State CID Awka, further investigations has commenced as the suspect will be duly prosecuted if found guilty within the law.
