The Federal Capital Territory High Court, Maitama, Abuja, has fined a whooping sum of N50million damages on Nigerian senator representing Adamawa North, Elisha Abbo.

The monetary fine is to be paid as compensation to a female attendant at a sex toy shop, Osimibibra Warmate, whom the senator assaulted.

Justice Samira Bature, while presiding over the judgement gave the order in lieu of the fundamental rights enforcement suit instituted by the victim, Warmate, against Senator Abbo.

This comes after the video clip of the alleged assault had gone viral.

Meanwhile, the police had initially in 2019 charged the senator before a Magistrates’ court in Zuba, on the one count of assaulting Warmate at an Abuja sex toy shop.

The presiding Magistrate then, Abdullahi Illeah, had dismissed the case on grounds of the no-case submission filed by the senator.

Warmate, with the help of her legal counsels again sued the Senator in a fundamental rights enforcement suit filed before the FCT High Court and marked with FCT/CV/2393/19.
