STRIKE: We’ve Seen Light at The End of The Tunnel – ASUU

The Academic Staff Union of Universities has expressed optimism that its fight is yielding desired results.

This is as the union hailed the House of Representatives for its intervention in prolonged crisis between its members and the Federal Government.

ASUU President, Prof Emmanuel Osodeke, on Monday said, “For the first time, we have seen light at the end of the tunnel.”

On his part, Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila, who briefed ASUU about his meetings with President Muhammadu Buhari said he expected for the strike to be called off “in matter of days.”

ASUU ready to call off strike – Falana

Meanwhile, Counsel for ASUU, Femi Falana, pn Monday revealed that his clients were ready to call off the 8-months strike.

Falana then called on the Federal Government to fast track and finalise negotiations with ASUU to enable the lecturers return back to classroom.

Responding to enquiry on the state of the ASUU strike, Falana said, “Our clients are ready to call off the strike. The Federal Government should fast track the and finalise the negotiations.”
