10 Burnt to Death as Fuel Tanker Explodes on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway | Daily Report Nigeria

A minimum of ten persons have been feared dead as a fuel laden tanker exploded along the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, on Thursday.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed that the incident happened in the early hours of the day before the Sagamu interchange in Ogun State.

A bus is said to have ran into the raging fire, which occurred at Araromi town.

According to the FRSC spokesperson in Ogun, Florence Okpe, rescue operation is still on.

She explained that the scene has been cordoned off, while traffic was diverted to avert a secondary clash.

“Motorists are advised to make use of alternative routes to avoid unnecessary delay.

“Motorists are advised to remain calm and cooperate with traffic managers managing the situation,” she said.
