The Court of Appeal has stopped the execution of its earlier judgment which freed the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
The Appellate Court ha faulted the rendition of Kanu from Kenya to Nigeria before setting aside the terrorism charges against him.
However, Justice Haruna Tsanami in a ruling on Friday in Abuja, upheld an application by the Federal Government that the execution of the judgment be suspended pending the resolution of its appeal lodged at the Supreme Court.

The Court also ordered for the execution of the judgment freeing Kanu to be put on hold.
Justice Tsanami in the briefing ruling held that the counter affidavit filed against the Federal Government application by Kanu’s legal team was misleading.
