The Federal Capital Territory Administration has urged residents to install Close-Circuit Television (CCTV), following warnings from Foreign Embassies of terror attack on Abuja.

A statement on Monday night by the Director of Information, Muhammad Sule reassured residents of Abuja of safety after encouraging them to install a CCTV.

The spokesperson said the FCT Executive Committee (EXCO) deliberated the arrangements to sustain law and order in Abuja.

By so doing, the committee said it would fish out criminals in different areas.

Sule said:

“The Committee enjoined residents to install Close-Circuit Television (CCTV) in public places and buildings, to complement efforts by government.”

The FCTA recalled how the law enforcement agencies had upscaled surveillance through their personnel to ward off any security breach.

FCTA last week distributed 60 operational vehicles fitted with state-of-the-art equipment to security agencies.

The meeting urged residents to cooperate with the government by volunteering useful and timely information to the police and others.

The EXCO recollected that the first phase of the joint security operation by G-7, the states contiguous to the FCT, recorded success, as well as the arrest of bandits and rescue of kidnapped victims.

Permanent Secretary, Olusade Adesola, represented the Minister, Muhammad Bello. Others present at the meeting were the Chief of Staff to the Minister, Bashir Mai-Borno, Secretaries of Mandate Secretariats, and AMMC Coordinator, among others.
