Fire Razes INEC Office in Osun

Fire Razes INEC Office in Osun | Daily Report Nigeria

A session of INEC office in Ede South Local Government Area, located within the premises of the council area in Oke Iresi, Ede, was on Thursday razed down by fire.

It was gathered that smoke was observed from the conference room of the secretariat some minutes to 10am and the firemen were immediately called to the scene.

According to an eyewitness, early response of firemen from Osun State Fire Service to the incident, restricted the fire to only the conference room of the secretariat.

He further said that the room which contained furnitures and some other items were destroyed in the fire.

It was further learnt that items like knife, slices of bread, a keg containing petrol and a fez cap were recovered from the scene of the fire, raising suspicion of arson.

The Public Relations Officer of Osun INEC, Seun Osimosu, confirmed the incident, saying;

“It is true. REC is on his way to inspect the scene. We will respond appropriately soonest.”
