Ahead the forthcoming Ondo state governorship poll slated for coming Saturday, October 10, political parties candidates have signed a Peace Accord.

The signing ceremony took place at the state’s capital, Akure, on Tuesday.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had said that the Peace Accord signing was to ensure a violence-free election.

Among some candidates who signed the Peace Accord includes Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Eyitayo Jegede of the People Democratic Party (PDP) respectively.

Also, candidate of the Zenith Labour Party and Akeredolu’s embattled Deputy, Agboola Ajayi, joined in signing the Peace Accord facilitated by the National Peace Committee.

Dignitaries present at the signing includes, Sultan of Sokoto, Abukabar Saa’d; Sokoto Diocese Bishop, Hassan Kukah; former Bishop of Abuja Diocese, John Onaiyekan, various traditional rulers, among others.
