Portugal and Ghana will kick off their FIFA World Cup 2022 campaign when they meet in their opening group C match on Wednesday.

Portugal has one of the most well-rounded squads at the FIFA World Cup and will be intent on going deep into the competition. The Selecao thrashed Nigeria 4-0 last week and are well-placed to top their group.

Team news

The 2016 European Champions are predicted to have an easy opening match against the team ranked 61st in the most recent FIFA world rankings because Fernando Santos has an incredibly talented team at his disposal.

Ghana had a confidence-boosting friendly victory against Switzerland in Abu Dhabi last week, Ghana enter the world cup in inconsistent form. If Ghana is to get past a defence that has only allowed two goals in their last seven games, they must put on their sharpest shooting shoes.

Portugal predicted starting lineup:
Costa; Cancelo, Pepe, Dias, Guerreiro; Neves, Carvalho, Fernandes; B. Silva, Ronaldo, Leao.
Ghana’s possible starting lineup:
Ati Zigi; Lamptey, Amartey, Djiku, Baba; Partey, Abdul Samed; Sulemana, Kudus,j Ayew, Williams.
Kick-off – 17: 00 g.m.t
Venue – 974 stadium
Odds / Prediction

The Selecao faithful should not expect their side to stroll to victory in Doha, but with so many talented attacking options at their disposal, we still have faith in Portugal to grind out a narrow win and get off to the perfect start. The punters at Sporita.com are predicting over 1.5 goals in this match.
