The CEO of Tee Web Services had attributed a desire to push for continued education in coastal areas as a major reason for the tourney.

“The need for education, particularly continued education in these areas cannot be overemphasized. My desire is to see a rise in the embrace of that route and this tourney is an awakening gong.”

Magbei noted that true reformation of a society dwells greatly on how informed such a society is, adding that coastal communities were in dire need of intellectual-driven transformation.

On the theme of the tourney “Unearthing Champions’, Magbei said the competition is aimed at discovering the next state, national and international champions in the game of scrabble.

“We’re out to discover the next batch of champions in Delta, Nigeria and the world with emphasis on scrabble. Of course you know scrabble as a game is an intelligence builder, the more reason we’re using it as a pointer.”

The tourney will also feature a mini-workshop raise awareness towards people in the areas to embrace sport as a career path.

While the tournaments winner will go home with the N100,000 grand prize, first and second runner-ups will settle for N70,000 and N50,000 respectively.
