A Forensic analysis has proved that videos showing the killing of unarmed protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos by operatives of the Nigerian Military on Tuesday October 20, are genuine.
This is coming on the heels of the Nigerian Army classifying the reports as fake, insisting that the videos were ‘photoshoped.’

The Nigerian Defence Headquarters’ further claimed that the footages were doctored.

However, a report published by the Digital Forensic Research Lab on Thursday has revealed that an open-source evidence contradicts the denials.
According to Jean Le Roux, the lab’s Research Associate for Southern Africa, “Several videos corroborate the location and presence of Nigerian soldiers at the Lekki Toll Plaza, a major toll highway toll concession in the South of Lagos.”
“Video footage posted on Twitter place Nigerian soldiers at the plaza where they are seen approaching peaceful demonstrators and opening fire. Subsequent footage shows injured civilians being carried away from the same location.”
The report circulated by HumAngle further stated that using four videos, the DFRLab geolocated the shooting at the toll-gate “despite denials by the Nigerian military”.
