La Liga – Injury Blow for Barcelona Ahead of El Clasico Clash with Real Madrid

Barcelona striker, Robert Lewandowski suffered a hamstring injury against Almeria on Sunday and has been ruled out of El Clasico.

Barca confirmed Lewandowski’s injury in a statement on Monday.

The statement read,

“First team player Robert Lewandowski has a left hamstring strain. He is out and his recovery will determine his availability.”

The Poland striker is set to miss the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg clash against rivals Real Madrid on Thursday.

Lewandowski is Barcelona’s top goalscorer presently this season.

He has so far scored 25 goals in 31 appearances.

The Catalans will also be without their big stars Pedro and Ousmane Dembele.
