APC Screens Aspirants For Imo, Bayelsa, Kogi Governorship Elections [FULL LIST] | Daily Report Nigeria

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has conducted screening for its aspirants for the governorship elections in Imo, Bayelsa, and Kogi States.

Not less than 23 aspirants contesting for the party’s ticket were screened for governorship elections.

In the screening on Friday at Ladi Kwali Conference Center, Governor Hope Uzodinma was the only aspirant for Imo State.

The committee is screening the aspirants ahead of the April 14 governorship primary elections APC

On the contrary, there were six aspirants screened in Bayelsa State by the committee in charge of the process.

They include; the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipreye Silva, 2019 Governor-elect, Chief David Pereworimini Lyon, Ogbomade Isikima Johnson, Prof. Ongoebi Etebu Maureen, Festus Daumiebi Sunday and Joshua Maciver.

From Kogi State, the incumbent Deputy Governor, Edward David Onoja was number one on the list of screened aspirants. He was seeking to take over from Governor Yahaya Bello.

Others were Senator Smart Adeyemi, the Chief of Staff to Governor Yahaya Bello, Abdulkareem Asuku, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party, Hon. Muritala Yakubu Ajaka; son of the former Gov. Abubakar Audu, Prince Shauibu Abubakar Audu; Sanusi Ohiare, former Executive Director, Rural Electrification Agency, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Salami Momodu O. Deedat and Usman Ododo, Auditor General, Local Government.

Others were the Chairman Senate Committee on ICT and Cyber Crime, Senator Oseni Yakubu, Halima l. Alfa, Momoh Jibrin, Alh. Yusuf Yakubu Okala, Hon. Asiru Idris, Prof. Stephen Ikani Ocheni, Abubakar Yahaya Achimugu, Idachaba Friday, and David A. Jimoh.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) fixed November 11, 2023, for the conduct of the three off-season governorship elections.
