BREAKING: Former Ogun Governor, Oladipo Diya Dies

BREAKING: Former Ogun Governor, Oladipo Diya Dies | Daily Report Nigeria

General Oladipo Diya, a former military governor of Ogun State, is dead.

Diya, a former Chief of General Staff, died aged 78.

His demise was announced on behalf of the family by Prince Oyesinmilola Diya.

A statement released by the family on Sunday morning, reads;

“On behalf of the entire Diya family home and abroad; We announce the passing on to Glory of our dear Husband,Father, Grandfather, brother, Lt- General Donaldson Oladipo Oyeyinka Diya (Rtd) GCON, LLB, BL, PSC, FSS, mni.

“Our dear Daddy passed onto glory in the early hours of 26th March 2023.

“Please keep us in your prayers as we mourn his demise in this period. Further announcements will be made public in due course,” the statement said.

Oladipo Diya served as Chief of General Staff under late General Sani Abacha but was accused of planning a coup against his principal and subsequently jailed.
