Brigadier General Maharazu Tsiga, a former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has been kidnapped by suspected terrorists in Katsina State.

The incident occurred on Wednesday night, February 6, at Tsiga’s hometown in Bakori Local Government Area.

A source close to the family revealed that the kidnappers demanded a ransom of N250 million for Tsiga’s release. The family was contacted on Friday night with the demand.

The source, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed that the family is working to secure Tsiga’s release.

The police command in Katsina State has confirmed the incident and is working with other security agencies to rescue Tsiga. Spokesperson for the police command, DSP Abubakar Aliyu, stated that the command is collaborating with stakeholders and sister security agencies on the matter.

“Unfortunately, before the arrival of the operatives, the hoodlums already succeeded in their mission,” he said.

Armed men suspected to be terrorists have once again invaded a community in Katsina state.

The attack led to the ruin of properties, as well as the Kidnap of 25 people.
