The kidnappers of passengers on an Abuja-Kaduna train have stated that they do not want a ransom for their victims.

The robbers said in a video published on Wednesday, April, 6 that the government already knew what they wanted and threatened to kill the victims if their demands were not granted.

The video was made when one of the victims, Alwan Hassan, the Managing Director of the Bank of Agriculture was released.

According to one of the bandits, the MD was released owing to his age and in the spirit of Ramadan.

We are the group that recently abducted passengers on the train. Among them is this man that has been pleading with us due to his old age and we felt pity for him because of the month of Ramadan, so, we want to give him back to his family,” they said.

Another bandit, who was among those in military uniform, agreed with their leader’s statement and requested that the FG not investigate them otherwise, the victims would be executed.

“We don’t want your money, if we wanted money, we wouldn’t have carried out the attack. You know what we want,” he said.
