Abuja Chef Sentenced to Prison For Stealing Noodles
In Abuja, a 29-year-old chef named Moses Ibor has been found guilty of stealing three cartons of Indomie instant noodles.
As a result, Ibor has been sentenced to one month in prison by the Dei-Dei Grade 1 Area Court on July 24, 2023.
Judge Saminu Suleiman presided over the case and provided an alternative option to the convict to pay a fine of N10,000 instead of serving the one-month imprisonment.

The judge also issued a stern warning to Moses Ibor, urging him to refrain from committing such crimes in the future.

The incident came to light when the complainant, Mr. Bashir Umar, reported the theft to the police at Dutse Alhaji police station on July 10.
According to the prosecutor, Mr. Chinedu Ogada, the chef entered Mr. Umar’s shop and stole three cartons of Indomie instant noodles with a total value of N21,000 while the owner was present.

Fortunately, Mr. Umar caught the thief in the act and managed to apprehend him before handing him over to the police.
Following a thorough investigation by the authorities, the stolen goods were successfully recovered from Moses Ibor.
The offense committed by the chef violates Section 288 of the Penal Code, leading to his conviction and subsequent sentence.
